COVID-19 Updates:

Office Rules & Procedures

We have remained OPEN as we were and are considered essential by Texas State Law, but limited our services to acute pain patients only. On MAY 1, 2020, per Gov. Abbott and the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners (TBCE), we opened to ALL PATIENTS (both acute pain & wellness patients).

Listed below are the practices & procedures that have changed in our office. These changes will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

  • An appointment is REQUIRED, no walk-ins will be allowed. Please feel free to call our office for same day availability.

  • We are NOT treating any illnesses (allergy, viral, bacterial, or other), only the aches, pains and muscle tightness/stiffness that are common symptoms of illness.

  • If you are sick or have been in contact with someone who has been sick, please let us know when you book your appointment. We can and will accommodate but will need to do so in a manner that maintains the safety of staff and other patients. You will be booked after hours and PPE will be required.

  • Our office has always followed CDC/OSHA guidelines for patient safety and since April 3, 2020, we have required ALL PATIENTS wear a face mask or covering while in our office and wash their hands with soap/water upon arrival. On June 20, 2020, by order of Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, ALL DALLAS BUSINESSES must REQUIRE their patrons to wear a face mask or be fined $500 daily. Therefore, we have no choice but to REQUIRE ALL OUR PATIENTS (without exception) wear a face mask or covering while in our office.

  • Only those with actual appointments to be treated will be allowed in the office. All others must wait in hallway or car. Please do not bring any extra people to your appointment unless you are a minor and need a parent present. This is the only way for us to maintain safe separation and sanitation practices.

  • The desk for the littles and coloring books/colors have been removed from the waiting area. Unfortunately, it is not feasible to sanitize between each patient visit. A coloring sheet and a couple of crayons will be given to each child if they would like. They may keep them or throw them away. We might even start a wall for the artwork.

  • Snacks/drinks must be asked for. We cannot in good conscience leave them out to be rummaged through by multiple guests and risk cross contamination. We can and will make you a cup of coffee and/or get you a cup of water. Please feel free to ask, we are here to serve you!

  • Please be ON TIME to your scheduled appointment. We use Clorox and CaviCide on all surfaces after each patient and Lysol in the air. We can not wipe the tables dry, for the topical agents to work they must be allowed to dry on their own. Thus, being timely to appointments will assist greatly in making certain there is time between patients for this to be effective.

  • We use a Uvlizer - UV Sanitizer in every room of our office, multiple times a day. The Uvlizer - UV Sanitizer sterilizes the air and surfaces (e.g., walls, floors, ceilings, art work, etc.) that cannot be cleaned as often or as easily. Unfortunately, it does produce a smell similar to burned dust while it completes its sterilization process. Thank you for understanding and we apologize for the odd-smell!

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these complicated times. Please call our office at (214) 272-9509 if you have any questions or concerns. Call or schedule your appointment online today!

All patients are pre-screened before their appointment via phone to let them know that they will have to postpone if recent fever, cough or known exposure to COVID-19.

All patients are instructed prior to their appointments and on front door signage, to wear a mask to their appointments.  If they arrive with no mask, a surgical mask will be provided.  Patient masks will not be removed while in the office.

If a patient has a health condition for which the wearing of a mask causes a health risk, consideration may be given upon consultation.

All patients will wash hands immediately upon entering the office.  Hand sanitizer is provided in many locations as well.

All patients will have temperature checked with infrared forehead thermometer before starting any examination or treatment.

All patients will complete an illness questionnaire pertaining to COVID-19, and sign that they understand the inherent risks of contracting COVID-19 in public. They sign that they agree that the doctor and clinic will not be held responsible for their risk of contracting COVID-19 during this pandemic.

If patient notifies us that they have tested positive for COVID-19 and were in our office within the past week, we will notify other patients who may have come in proximity to that patient that day.

There are no guests allowed to accompany a patient to the appointment aside from one guardian for a minor or an elder caretaker.

All employees will wear provided masks for the duration of the day, aside from eating and drinking in designated areas.

If wearing a mask creates a health risk, consideration will be given.

All employees will wash hands immediately upon entering the building, and between each patient encounter.  Hand sanitizer is provided in many locations as well.

All employees will have temperature checked with infrared forehead thermometer before starting the workday.

If staff develops a fever during or outside of work hours, they will notify doctor or office manager immediately.  They will have a COVID-19 test done, and return to work upon a negative test result, or after recovery and quarantine, if positive.

In the event of a positive COVID-19 test for an employee, Dallas Chiropractic Metrics will close to patient care for 1 day for sanitation.  Any staff will be monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 closely.  Patients who directly interacted with that employee up to 1 week prior to their positive test result will be notified.

Employees have their own work spaces (computer/phone) and will keep those sanitized.

If employees share the use of electronics, keyboards, etc., they will sanitize after use.

Surfaces, pens, clipboards, and medical instruments are wiped with Clorox Wipes or bleach spray between any patient encounters.

All tables, chairs, and equipment in which patients come in contact with will be wiped with Clorox Wipes or bleach spray between patient encounters.

Reception chairs have been reduced in number and spaced at least 6 feet apart from each other.

Credit card payments are accepted with the patient inserting/swiping their own card, so that staff does not have to touch the credit card.
